My name is Payton Ruddock and I'm currently a student at Texas A&M University studying Biomedical Engineering. I started getting into photography about 2 years ago as a way to document the snakes I was catching in the field. From there is has spun into an all-out passion, and I cant get enough.
I started out basically shooting my snakes and the snakes I encountered in my field expeditions with my grandfather's old 35mm Nikon SLR camera. I started loving photography more and more, and for a gift I got my first Digital SLR (a Canon 40D) and thats when I really took off. I started getting interested in traveling, landscape photography, other things in nature, and especially urban shoots and portrait photography.
I did my first portrait shoot as a favor for a friend and his fiancee. I shot their engagement pictures and had a blast doing it. I've started really studying everything I can get my hands on and doing as many shoots as I can with different people to try and really refine my skills as a portrait photographer with the minimalistic set-up I have. Shooting around Bryan/College Station has been a blast, and everytime I get into the car I see another cool building or another area that could make for a great set in the right light. By the time I get home I can't wait to go on the next shoot and find more people to photograph.
Beyond photography I love to travel, play basically any sport you can name, and, of course, keep and breed many different types of reptiles and amphibians.
I hope that this quick little bit has helped you learn a little more about me and what I do. If you want to contact me or tell me something about yourself, feel free to contact me via the Contact page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Enjoy my site and check back regularly for updates to the gallery and blog sections of the site.
Also feel free to check me out on the Payton Ruddock Photography Myspace Page or on my Reptile Geeks page. Both sites have representation of my work, and are a great place to network with me and get to know me better.
